Save Yourself Software builds free Chrome extensions that quiet the noise and give your attention back to you.

Four extensions. One mission.

Built to undo the internet’s worst habits

We design small guardrails that make the attention economy feel humane again.

I built these tools after watching the internet chip away at the very abilities that make us human. Friends who once loved reading struggled to finish a page. Students who could debate ideas now repeat headline talking points. Even my own focus started to fracture. The science backs up what I’ve felt: social feeds erode comprehension, critical thought, and emotional stability at the exact moment we need them most.

Researchers have traced the problem from multiple angles. Exposure to low-quality information on social media crowds out learning and slows people’s ability to update their beliefs.Allcott & Gentzkow 2017 Algorithmic feeds intensify confirmation bias to the point that even deliberate cross-ideological experiments make participants more polarized because outrage wins the ranking battle.Bail et al. 2018 Neurological studies now show habitual scrolling stretching attention spans thin and raising baseline anxiety.

Save Yourself Software is my answer to that damage. Each extension adds deliberate friction—hiding infinite feeds, flattening baited thumbnails, nudging you to notice the minutes slipping away. They are tiny guardrails, but together they help rebuild the conditions for real thinking: quiet focus, intentional media diets, and the mental steadiness we deserve.
